Yeah so Yeah. This is the second Fantard Magnus Record. 2 Years in the making, and It’s been done for a while I have just been letting it age properly for flavor. I worked really hard on this project, and I hope you enjoy it.
Allright well now, Here is a new album for your delectation. The idea behind it was to make a “noise” album. I will sometimes read descriptions of albums on the internet and think “ooh, that sounds cool”, but after downloading the album I will be disappointed by the actual music. So, in a way this record is inspired by these descriptions of artsy noise records I have read. Or at least that was where I was at when I was recording this stuff. Some songs are not noisy at all, one song was an attempt at techno, weirdness abounds as usual, only two songs have singing, some frantic drums, sounds of house activity creep into the recordings, as does rain, and the ever present goings by of the light rail.
All songs written and recorded by Helios Wilson Levick, between July 14th and August 6th of 2011 while staying temporarlily at josh’s house in denver.

This is the Music of Baxter Long, or more accurately, this is a facet of Baxter’s music. The Music on this album predominantly of the electronic nature, or to be more precise, A multitude of field recordings, and recycling of old songs all chopped, edited, affected, smashed, fragmented, and otherwise transmogrified into new compositions. Many things happen at once, a psychedelic shmorgasboard, Some songs are funny, some are beautiful, some are scary, and all the while a feeling of playfulness dances around behind the colorful and everchanging scenery that is constructed. if you like weirdness, or have ADD, this may be the thing for you. Headphones recommended!

So This is the Fantard Magnus Record, started in late 2009 and finished summer of 2011 (Sucessfully making it my most labored over album). This record represents my attempt to make “pop” music. Recorded primarily at a few different houses in Denver, with some final overdubs and mixing done while taking a break from tour in Oakland. I feel that this is some of the most honest music I have made, and that It very well represents a specific time in my life, complete with almost tangible memories that shimmer in my brain when I listen to these songs. Probably my most “thought out” music so far. Also, tons of Wierdness, psychedelic shit, songs you can really rock out to, some serious rap, something folk-esque, 43 minutes spanning many genres, and encompassing a multitude of sounds including :
Cassette recordings, water, crickets, bells, baxter and stephen, a wooden bridge, drinking fountain, fans, Beatboxing, Bell piano, SK-1, Air Organ, Cymbal, Drums, Digital Mangling, Voice, Plank, Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Glass Armonica, Viola, Bowed Cymbal, Snaps, Mandolin, Glockenspiel, Childrens Toy, Tape manipulation, Circuit bent duck sound Dog Toy, Bra Strap, Nose Flute, Computer Built Drums, Fabric, Kalimba, Concertina, Mixing Bowl, Trash Drums, Reel to Reel Tape Loops, Pot Lids, Plastic Tubes, Cake Froster, recording of a parrott, and Gamelan Gongs.
This Is Another Older Release, Finished fall 2008, I was 18. A bit less than 1/2 of this album was recorded in Kansas City, during my month long attempt to live there, the rest was recorded at a farm in Upstate New York. This Release marks my departure from recording primarily in mono, and the emergence of digital mangling as a means of composition.
"full length album by composer Helios Wilson Levick blending live instrumentation and extensive sampling, shellac’d in digital shine running a full range of genres from minimalist glitch to loungy rock to ambient hip-hop?"
sounds include but are not limited to:
Guitar (both acoustic and electric), bass, electric mandolin, drums, piano, dinner plates, winter boots (tapped with a drumstick), refrigerator, bathtub, bubbles blown into a glass of water, beer cans, bowed and struck saw, microphone feedback, and assorted mouth noises including beatboxing.
Yeah, so This Album is fairly well explained by it’s title, but to elaborate, contains 27 recording of song ideas, improvisations, one off compositions, late night outdoor on the spot multitracking, abandoned projects and in general, songs I just dont know what else to do with. I actually Really like most of them, but I just cant picture them on a “serious release”, so They congregate here. All were recorded between August 2010 and May 2011. Lyrics to Sick Puppy Dog were a collaboration with Baxter Long, whos voice is also present on Wessiling match.
